Ok I know it will look bipolar, but … couldn’t help it, was looking for some new stuff to try, but before that went to the old http://distrowatch.com page, and looked for the projects that were related to Slackware, and found several, a couple of them have reached to its end but others not. Surprisingly, at least for me, I found Dropline Gnome is still alive, but couldn’t install it … and since I have heard not really cool stuff about Gnome 3.X, decided to avoid it.
Nevertheless decided to try a really old friend Enlightenment, but did it because I discovered there was a project committed to create Packages for Slackware: SlackE17.
These guys have created a really simple way of install it, just a shell script, execute it and its all set, you just have to choose the appropriate download based on your architecture, and that’s it.
Once you have grabbed it just untar the file, in my case: slacke17-0.17.6-i486.tar, and once there, run: ./slacke17-install.sh max
Then you will have a nice Desktop like this (at least I liked it).
Let’s see how much time will pass, between this, and changing back to something else, hahaha may be I will switch back to wmaker (at least its already installed on my Slack box)
